Top 5 toxic female characters in movies and TV Shows.

As I'm growing more aware of the trend of talking about famous movies and TV series. I decided to write an article about what are - in my opinion - the most iconic love stories that by all means truly toxic and codependent. I consider useful to analyse what seams to be the most perfect, romantic relationship illustrated in a movie or a sitcom and reveal it for what it truly is: malicious.
Let us do the countdown backwards as it increases the excitement, shall we?

Number 5:

Lucas and Payton - One Tree Hill.

All throughout the series, Payton was proved to be a confused little girl who had no idea what she truly wanted until it was taken away from her. She is far from the only female character behaving this way in modern TV Shows but what I specifically dislike in Payton is how she feels she is the rightful receiver of Luca's affections, regardless of who could get hurt in the process and when she finally has the chance to be with him, she finds a reason not to. Having lacked a family of her own when young, could explain her on going search for love and her being more interested in the chase rather than actually finding love.

Number 4:

Tom Riddle Sr and Merope Gaunt
She was a lost, unfortunate soul who just wanted love. She met a handsome muggle who she basically drugged into returning her feelings using a love position. Nothing of what they had was real that is why their child Tom Marvolo Riddle (Soon to become Lord Voldermort) was born from a lie. The curse of being born from a relationship created by a love potion is that you will never be able to feel or understand love.

Number 3: Katherine Pierce and well.. every men who ever felt for her.

Katherine was not born evil. She was turned evil by the horrors happening to her mostly because of Klaus. Everything she ever did was for herself and she never truly loved any of her partners. She would manipulate and cheat so she can keep herself alive and manages to wrap around her fingers the actual Devil. She was toxic, manipulative, self centered but all together - quite awesome.

Number 2

Rebekah Mikaelson and Marcel Gerard - The Originals

Rebekah had always aspired to be human and she could never embrace her immortality as she always claimed she never wished for it. Although she had multiples great loves during her lifetime, her greatest, more powerful love was Marcel. Due to her actual fear of finding happiness, she would constantly dodge his affections and would run away, finding excuses for which they shouldn't be happy together.
Although Marcel always loved her and would give up anything at any time to be with her, she did not make it easy for him at all and she would show up numerous times when he would try to find happiness with somebody else.

Number 1:

Ted and Robin - How I met your mother

Robin was a selfish, confused, insecure woman who only aimed for things out of her reach. She was never truly interested in Ted until he would move on and try to build a live with somebody else. She had Ted so hooked on her that he lost one of the greatest loves in his life - Victoria. Even after Ted finds the love of his life, marries her and has her children, Robin still acts like a victim, annihilating her friends because her relationship with Barney did not work out and she realises she chose the wrong friend. In my opinion, the only reason she actually married Barney was due to the feeling she had of her being the one finally changing him. She would thrill from the attention and from what she represents by being a woman who made an honest man out of somebody who had slept with over 2000 women in his lifetime.
